Installing ink cartridges:

1. After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the scanning unit (printer cover).The ink cartridge holder moves to the replacement position.
   
   Note: After confirming that the scanning unit support is fixed into position, release your hands.
   
   
   


2. Take out a new cartridge from its casing and gently remove the orange protective tape in the direction of the arrow.
   
   
   
   
   Note: - Do not attempt to reattach the protective tape once you have removed it.
   - Do not touch the gold electrical contacts or the print head nozzles after removing the protective tape.
   
   


3. Insert the ink cartridge into the ink cartridge holder.- Black: the left slot- Color: the right slot*
   
   *One black cartridge and one color cartridge must be installed in the machine in order for the printer to operate. It does not matter if the capacities (Standard or High) do not match.


4. Push up on the front of the cartridge until it locks into place. (A click sound will be heard when the cartridge is locked in place.)
   
   


5. Confirm that the ink cartridges are installed properly.

   <2> The ink cartridge is installed properly.


6. Fold the scanning unit support and close the scanning unit (printer cover).


7. Wait until the preparatory operation is complete; it takes about one to two minutes.

Removing Ink Cartridges:

1. After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the scanning unit (printer cover). The ink cartridge holder moves to the replacement position.
   
   


2. Press down on the semi-circular tab to release the cartridge and then remove it.
   
   
   Note: Handle the ink cartridges carefully to avoid staining clothes and surrounding work area.
   
   
   


3. Remove and replace each cartridge individually. Or, remove the second cartridge after the first has been removed.


4. Fold the scanning unit support and close the scanning unit (printer cover).

How to perform Manual Print Head Alignment (Window)
Print head alignment corrects the installation positions of the print head and improves deviated colors and lines.

Open the printer driver setup window

Click Print Head Alignment on the Maintenance tab

The Start Print Head Alignment dialog box opens

Load paper in the machine

Load three sheets of A4 size or Letter size plain paper into the cassette.

Execute head alignment
Make sure that the machine is on and click Align Print Head.
Follow the instruction in the message.

 Note : To check the current setting before you adjust the print head position, click Print Alignment Value.

Check the printed pattern
Enter the numbers of the patterns with the least amount of streaks in the associated boxes.
Clicking the patterns with the least amount of streaks in the preview window, will automatically set their numbers in the associated boxes.

When you have entered all the necessary values, click OK.

Note : If you look at the print results and still cannot determine which pattern is the one with the least amount of streaks, see your machine manual.

Check the adjustment pattern that is printed next

Canon i850 Series Install the printer driver after download

If you have problem with your Canon i850 printer and you have absolute everything that you can think of but still can't find why is it not printing, I suggest you reinstall the Canon i850 printer driver

WARNING: Before you install the Canon i850 printer driver you MUST make sure the driver is compatible with your OS i.e. do not install driver for window 2000 into your PC with window XP this will cause you all the funny problem later....

Install the printer driver after download (Windows)

Note: Before installing the

  Clicking 'No' will cause installation to fail.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note: In Windows98/Me, if the
  BJ raster printer driver has been installed previously, a system restart may
  be required to update the USB port driver. In this case, follow the
  instructions, click 'OK', and the system will be restarted. Re-install the
  printer driver.

 



 

The Printer port screen will be displayed. 

 

Examine the cable connection between the printer and the computer, then
  power ON the printer. The Printer port screen is displayed
  for a moment to detect a printer port. When the printer port is
  automatically detected, the screen will disappear.

 

  Note: If a printer port is not
  detected successfully, disconnect and re-connect the printer cable. When you
  select a preferred printer port, select 'Select printer port', then click
  'Manual' selection.

 

 

 

 

When the installation is completed, the following message will be
  displayed:

 

 

 

 

Click 'Finish' to complete the setup program. This shows the
  installation completion. The System Settings Change window
  is displayed.

 

 

Note: If the BJ raster printer
  driver has been installed before, the following message may be displayed.

 



 

 

  If so, click 'OK' to restart the system. This
  completes the printer driver installation.

Canon CanoScan N650U Driver and Software

Before you install ScanGear CS-U, make sure that you have accomplished
the following tasks:
• Make sure that the computer is equipped with an enabled USB
port. In My Computer - Control Panel - System icon, click the
Device Manager tab and double-click “Universal serial bus
controler”. If you can see the names of the Host Controller and
USB Root Hub displayed, the computer is equipped with an
enabled USB port. Some computers may require enabling the USB
function with a BIOS setting. For details about enabling the USB
port with the BIOS setting, see your computer manual.
• Make sure the scanner is connected to a computer.
• If a previous version of ScanGear CS is installed on your computer,
uninstall it before you install ScanGear CS-U 5.7.
Note
• With Windows 2000 Professional, ensure that you log on
as an Administrator to install/uninstall the software.
• If ScanGear CS-U has already been installed according to
the instructions in the Getting Started guide that came
with the scanner, there is no need to perform the
installation procedures described on the following pages.
